About the farm

Willow & Finch is a small flower farm nestled just inland from the sea in Pescadero, California. We grow unusual, beautiful blooms, including David Austin roses — sometimes wild-looking, always full of personality. Every stem is grown naturally and organically, right in the soil, under the open sky, and harvested entirely by hand.
Karen, who runs the farm, came to flower growing after a long career in the arts. She was head of communications at Meyer Sound and before that held roles at the San Francisco Opera and Symphony, working under Herbert Blomstedt, Michael Tilson Thomas, and Nicola Luisotti. These days, she’s more likely to be found elbow-deep in compost or arranging stems in the field than behind a desk.
Though new to flower farming herself, she’s got good guidance—her daughter is a professional flower farmer—and a keen eye for the unexpected. We don’t aim to be a high-production farm. Our focus is on growing thoughtfully and seasonally, letting the flowers speak for themselves.
You can find our bouquets on weekends at Gaia Essentials, 248 Stage Rd, in downtown Pescadero. We also take special orders and have even provided flowers for a wedding or two. If you’re looking for something a little offbeat, a little wild, and very much in tune with the land—we’d love to hear from you.
